IFDF Gets National Recognition:

2023 TRENDY Award

The week of March 13, 2023 was an amazing week for the IFDF! The IFDF received its first national recognition ever! On behalf of the Association, IFDF Associate Director for Outreach Dr. Ruth Bedell attended the 43rd Salute to Association Excellence awards event held at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC, to receive this recognition.

Sponsored by Association TRENDS and CEO Update, the annual Salute to Association Excellence awards event honors the best marketing and communication pieces in the association and nonprofit community. Each year, associations and nonprofits in the US can compete in any of the 24 TRENDY Award categories, such as annual or quarterly magazine, convention program, website, or daily or weekly communication, to name a few. This year, more than 230 associations and nonprofits competed for these coveted awards.

We submitted examples of our weekly e-newsletter to the "daily or weekly communication" TRENDY award category two years ago but did not place. This year, we submitted entries to the same category, but this time the weekly e-newsletter placed in the top three of that category! However, it was only at the awards event where we learned that we received the bronze award! We are excited about and truly grateful for this national recognition.

The IFDF was one of two Florida associations, the other one being the LeadingAge Florida Association, recognized at this year's Salute to Association Excellence event. It is our understanding that the IFDF was the only funeral association to receive recognition in any of this year's TRENDY Awards categories.

The IFDF is now among the big league of associations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Bankers Association, and American Council of Engineering Companies, for example, to have won a coveted TRENDY Award over the awards' 43-year history.
