Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations, a family-owned and operated company located in Palm Coast, Florida, is currently seeking a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to fill a full-time position.
The position requires a compassionate, organized, detailed person who cares deeply about assisting client families in their time of need. The applicant must be able to meet with family members to prepare and coordinate all arrangements and be passionate about meeting the needs of grieving families while supporting and shepherding them through a difficult time. He or she must also care for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which may include the following: making removals and transfers; verifying the identity of decedents; operation of on-site crematory; embalming and performing applicable restorative artwork; dressing; applying cosmetics and meeting any additional preparation or crematory operation requirements for deceased human remains. The applicant must be able to work well with a team of funeral directors, crematory operators and attendants assigned to support the creation of meaningful memorialization services.
In addition, we also operate Clymer Pet Cremations & Memorials in service to our neighbors who seek professional care & compassion when their pets pass away. The applicant must be able to work with us as we strive to support and care for these families through their grief as well by being available to arrange, receive and process pet calls as well.
Education:
• Graduate of an accredited mortuary college or technical school specializing in funeral service or mortuary science program.
Certification/Licenses:
• Must possess a state of Florida Funeral Director's License and Embalmer's License (or be in the process of obtaining such)
• Must possess a state of Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Job Duties & Skills
• Meets with client families to arrange cremation, burial, ship-out & personalized memorial services.
• Ensures all files and paperwork are kept up in a timely fashion and are in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Conducts and attends services regularly.
• Embalms, dresses, cosmetizes as needed.
• Available to work rotational weekend, on-call & visitation schedule.
• Ability to use computer systems to enter case files, order needed supplies and complete necessary forms.
• Maintains open and effective communication with client families and accurate, up-to-date client files.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift, push or pull in accordance with regular funeral home duties.
• Participation in a community group and/or organization is preferred.
