The Florida Department of Health – Bureau of Vital Statistics will be presenting on “An overview of Vital Statistics for Funeral Directors”. During the presentation we will discuss topics that will be beneficial to funeral directors when filing death certificates. We will also discuss a new modification pathway that was just recently made available to funeral directors.
The presentation will cover the following topics:
- Reluctant Certifiers
- Medical Quality Assurance Website
- Offline VS Online Certifier
- Social Security Numbers
- Funeral Director Modifications
- Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) tips
Brittany Morris is a Quality Assurance Field Representative working with the Department of Health, Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics, and has been with the state office for 11 years. During her time at Vital Statistics, she has worked in various departments from client services, helpdesk, and quality assurance. Britany has a broad knowledge of vital statistics and is always eager to assist where needed.
Natasha Waters is a Quality Assurance Field Representative working with the Department of Health, Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics, and has been with the state office for 14 years. While at Vitals, she has worked at the EDRS Helpdesk, Medical Coding, the lead over the current registration unit and with Quality Assurance. Natasha’s experience and work ethic at Vital Statistics make her a great asset to the Quality Assurance team.
Kelsey Eldridge is a Quality Assurance Field Representative working with the Department of Health, Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics. She is new to the state office and comes to us as a former instructor. Kelsey received her Bachelor’s degree in Education, Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University. Her passion for teaching others and her previous work experience make her an excellent fit for the Quality Assurance team.
To obtain continuing education credit:
- You must be an IFDF member (firm establishment owner, individual member, and affiliate member).
- You must attend the full webinar to obtain credit; partial credit will not be awarded.
- You must login to Zoom using your full name and remain logged into the webinar for the entirety of the event.
- Prior to or immediately after the event, forward your FL license number to Ruth Bedell, to sign up for CE credit.
- IFDF will issue documentation granting credit within 2 weeks post-event after verifying full attendance and will upload the course roster to the licensee portal.
